This document announces the release of a new turbocharger kit, Part Number 4034095 , for QSK60 construction engines. This kit is intended as a Step 3 solution for an active serious quality problem project investigating the A286 stainless steel capscrews breaking in the bearing-to-turbine housing joint. The turbocharger kit will contain new A286 stainless steel capscrews (1), new lock plates (2), and a 0.25 mm [0.010 in] shim (3). The 0.25 mm [0.010 in] shim is fitted between the flange of the bearing housing and the turbine housing. See Figure 2.
This kit will also contain an installation sheet with instructions on how to install the shim.
